Born in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire in 1944, Jeff is a self-taught artist working mainly in oils. He has been painting for most of his life and has lived in the Lake District since 1979, an area where he finds much inspiration for his paintings. In his spare time Jeff loves exploring and photographing the British countryside in order to find new ideas for his paintings.
Landscapes are his main subject, each one capturing the light and atmosphere of the area. His subjects are portrayed accurately whilst incorporating the mood and feeling he desires. In recent years Jeff has become an extremely popular and well-respected Lake District artist. Many of his works are published as prints, which are highly sought after. Jeff’s original paintings and prints are sold exclusively at the Cookhouse and Cedar galleries in Ambleside, Bowness, Keswick and Windermere. There is a permanent exhibition of Jeff’s originals on the first floor at Cedar Gallery, Windermere.
With a growing number of collectors purchasing in his work, Jeff’s original paintings can be found in homes around the world.
