Gwen Vaughan has been working as an illustrator for agencies, producing images for children’s books which influences her ceramics. Using traditional techniques, she models the clay to give the shape and character of the animal. The glazed colours give the final touch to her beautiful creations.
Gwen comments about her work: “Although rooted in the figurative tradition I aim for a simplicity of form and try to capture something of the spirit of each animal rather than making an exact representation.”
