Nigel Hutchinson

Nigel Hutchinson is a retired architect. After graduating from Newcastle University he worked in Kirkby Lonsdale, before moving to Ambleside in 1979 where he lived and worked for the next thirty years; his office being on the first floor of the old Market Hall.

A drawing board, a T-square, tracing paper and ink pens were always an integral part of his drawing and presentation technique. In fact, he never changed to producing CAD drawings or computer rendering. It was a natural progression upon retiring, to continue to use those ‘Pen and Ink’ skills to produce pictures of scenes in and around the South Lakes.
