Jay Nottingham

Born in Bedfordshire in 1972, Jay was surrounded by colour and design from an early age. Both his grandfather and great grandfather were artists and greatly influenced Jay’s own growth as an artist. Jay is self taught and has cultivated his technique in a number of mediums including oils, acrylics and watercolour.

Jay is renowned for his versatility as an artist. From bright woodland scenes full of texture and colour to hauntingly subtle moonlit beaches, Jay’s work demonstrates his ability to master a wide range of styles while maintaining his artistic identity. He continues to expand the variety of subjects he paints, consistently pushing himself to new levels.

Jay now lives in South Wales with his family where he paints as a full-time artist. He is collaborating with Cook House Gallery to produce Lake District work; his style for striking / bold contrasts of dark and light lends itself to perfectly to creating contemporary interpretations of iconic Lake District scenes.
